TIF Funding Secured to Preserve Affordable Housing at HUPA!

On June 11th, the City of Chicago’s Community Development Commission (CDC) approved TIF funding in support of HUPA—the rehabilitation of a five-building scattered site development in the Uptown neighborhood of Chicago. The development is located in the Wilson Yard Redevelopment Project Area within the 46th Ward.

Pictured below, Voice of the People (VOP) board members and staff as well as current residents spoke, advocating for the importance of preserving affordable housing in Uptown and how HUPA will accomplish this with the support of TIF funding. Team members from Voice of the People, Preservation of Affordable Housing (POAH), and current residents also attended in support.

Big thank you to Alderwoman Angela Clay for her support in helping secure this funding for HUPA!

In September, TIF funding will be brought before City Council for final approvals.
